CD Projekt Red is planning The Witcher 3-like expansions for Cyberpunk 2077
The Blood and Wine expansion of The Witcher Three: Wild Hunt is an exemplary model of how to create additional content for role-playing games. It features an intriguing storyline filled with mystery, vivid surroundings, and exciting adventures with a vampire. Now, CD Projekt Red aims to replicate the same level of expansion in Cyberpunk 2077.
During E3, CD Projekt Red UI Coordinator Alvin Liu disclosed the company’s plans for future expansions. He explained that while they are focused on completing the game, they also want to build open worlds. Liu stated that after he finished playing The Witcher Three, he still wanted to know what the characters were up to. The team plans to create similar opportunities in Cyberpunk 2077.
Liu also emphasized that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a “very fulfilling” story arc, with a fully developed game and an ample amount of content at launch. The characters will go through conflicts, develop, and solve them, leading to a satisfying ending. CD Projekt Red will not withhold any content or storylines to monetize or sell them later. Players will receive a complete and full-value game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set to launch on April 16, 2020. For those interested in games set in futuristic, dystopian worlds, check out The Outer Worlds for more information.
