Fifty-six people have died from the infection, which has actually been validated to be spread out from human-to-human contact. It may have initially spread out from animals to people. Chinese officials have quarantined the city and its surrounding areas, imposing a major travel ban which restricts motion of “20 million people,” Vox reported.

Though both tournaments are beyond the restricted areas, the travel restrictions will make it challenging for players and staff attending the event.

Update: A Riot Games representative told Polygon “the team in China is working carefully with authorities there and will continue to keep track of the circumstance every day.”
