Transformers: War for Cybertron is a three-film trilogy coming soon to Netflix, and chapter one got the first teaser trailer this weekend. Entitled Siege, it takes us to the closing hours of the Autobot-Decepticon civil war, with both sides thinking about some rather desperate options.
Megatron is on the hunt for the Allspark, the Cybertronian MacGuffin that can “reformatting” the Autobots. Optimus Prime should marshal his soldiers to prevent the Decepticons’ wicked strategies, utilizing methods that some discover severe, and very dangerous. It boils down to an eventful call: Should the Autobots ruin Cybertron in order to wait?
There’s no release date yet for chapter one (nor 2, entitled Earthrise, so you can most likely think where this is headed w/r/t Cybertron). This is the inaugural production for Rooster Teeth Studios, with Polygon Pictures (no relation) functioning as the animation studio. F.J. DeSanto, of Transformers: Titans Return and Power of the Primes is the showrunner, with Gavin Hignight (Transformers: Cyberverse) and Brandon Easton (Transformers: Rescue Bots) on the writing team.
Regardless of their spot-on voices, that’s not Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime or Frank Welker as Megatron. It’s Jake Foushee and Jason Mamocha, respectively. The remainder of the voice acting credits name-checks Autobots Bumblebee, Ultra Magnus, Jetfire, Wheeljack, and Ironhide, with Decepticons Shockwave, Soundwave, Starscream, and Skywarp likewise discussed, so look for your preferred to show up.
