Pokémon Go Thundurus raid guide: best counters and movesets

Recent articles

Thundurus is striking Pokémon Go’s tier 5 raids beginning on March 2.

Thundurus is the second of the Forces of Nature trio to sign up with the game, following Tornadus. This suggests Landorus will likely sign up with raids beginning in April, though an end date for Thundurus’ raids has yet to be revealed.

Simply like Tornadus, Thundurus has 2 types: the human-like Incarnate Forme and the bird-like Therian Forme. The typing of the Pokémon does not alter in between types, so all these counters must work no matter what. The Therian Forme has yet to make a debut in Pokémon Go.

Thundurus is just weak versus rock- and ice-type Pokémon, so think about utilizing any of the following:

  • Rampardos with Smack Down and Rock Slide
  • Mamoswine with Powder Snow and Avalanche
  • Tyranitar with Smack Down and Stone Edge
  • Rhyperior with Smack Down and Rock Wrecker

If you’re having problem, keep in mind to utilize weather increases to turn the tides in your favor. Rain will increase electric-type relocations and partially cloudy weather will increase rock-type relocations.

The best moveset on Thundurus is Thunder Shock and Thunder, though it’s not that terrific of an PvE enemy. It does have a high attack stat and its failure is its minimal moveset. If Niantic chooses to add much better electric-type relocate to its swimming pool in the future, it’ll be a terrific enemy, so think about selecting a couple of up and holding on to it, simply in case.
