Gaming content creator and business owner Mari Takahashi is joining our show, Speedrun, as a correspondent beginning today! Mari co-founded Smosh Games, which won 2 Streamy Awards and a Webby during her period. She runs her own YouTube channel now, and also, she was on Survivor and is a skilled ballerina?
We believe she’s fantastic.
Mari joins host Jimmy Mondal, a enthusiastic gamer and esports fanatic who introduced Cheddar Esports and provided his voice to Overwatch League’s New york city Excelsior. Together, Jimmy and Mari will check out video games and the neighborhoods that play them. In Mari’s debut episode, she fulfills up with expert Twitch streamer iamBrandon to check out the community he’s built around streaming horror games.
“Like most kids in my generation, I played games as a hobby without any expectation to ever step foot as a professional in this industry,” saysMari “I’ve met some of my dearest friends across the globe thanks to video games, which is why I’m inspired to continue building the Speedrun community and bringing together like-minded folks who both love and are curious about the narratives, people, and events that shape this awesome industry and its evolving culture. I’m stoked to join forces with Jimmy and Polygon to share fun and compelling stories on Quibi!”
You can see the full episode on Quibi, however considering that this is Mari’s debut, you can also see the full episode on YouTube today:
