Crysis Remastered is on its way While the game hasn’t officially been announced– at the time of writing at least – it’s all but confirmed after its trailer and release date leaked ahead of schedule.
Thanks to that leaked information, we know that Crysis Remastered will be coming to PlayStation 4 on July 23 With Sony’s next-generation console, the PlayStation 5, due to launch in Holiday 2020, some of you may be questioning if Crysis Remastered will be getting the PS5 treatment too. If there’s any truth to this speculation, let’s see.
Will PS5 receive a Crysis Remastered port?
Today, the response is no. Unless the game’s developer – Crytek – makes a shock announcement as part of the official July 1 unveiling, you should not expect Crysis Remastered to arrive on the PS5 anytime soon.
While that may be frustrating news for some, there hasn’t been confirmed that it will never ever see the light of day on PS5. During an interview with PlayStation Official Magazine – Crytek lead Steffen Halbig declined to comment on a potential Crysis Remastered PS5 port.
When asked if a PS5 version was in development, Halbig stated: “Like many other developers out there we are following PS5 carefully. The future looks extremely appealing[for PS5] From a development viewpoint we are thrilled to see how we can press the borders of the new hardware and use Sony’s new developments in our games.”
Halbig does not exactly rule it out, so there’s constantly the possibility that Crysis Remastered might end up on PS5. The PS4 version might be a reverse compatible title on PS5, which would allow you to play your PS4 copy on Sony’s new console when it introduces. In the meantime, you’ll just be able to get your fix when Crysis Remastered is released on July 23.
Its after july 13 so it will at least run on the hardware…
