Megumi Hayashibara’s book is available digitally now, physically in August

Yen Press announced the Megumi Hayashibara book The characters taught me everything is available digitally outside of Japan. People can get it through Bookwalker. The physical version will hit stores in April 2021. The company also shared a video message from Hayashibara.

The book is an autobiographical memoir in which Hayashibara examines her career and how the characters she has portrayed in various anime series influence it. Such characters include Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Faye Valentine explains Cowboy Bebop, and Jessie from Pokemon

According to Hayashibara, the time she spent with the characters she played has given her strength and happiness and allowed her to enjoy life more. She said, “They showed me how to carry on when I start to lose heart, they even showed me that, ‘Hey, if I do this, I can fix things up with my friends when we get into a fight. Hayashibara wrote the book to pass on those experiences.

Originally, Hayashibara wanted to do signature sessions around the world for the 264-page book, but that won’t work due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The characters taught me everything known as Zenbu Kyara kara Osowatta Ima wo Ikinuku Chikara in Japan, will be in print worldwide in August 2021. The digital version of the book is available immediately.
