Hades wins South By Southwest Game of the Year for 2021. I am not surprised that Supergiant has been consistently releasing quality games since their first, Bastion. Listening to Logan Cunningham again is nothing but a treat, be it in Bastion, Transistor, Pyre, Hades, literally everything he’s in.
Supergiant has released great games since their first, Bastion. The stories, the gameplay, the soundtracks, the Logan Cunningham and his great voice acting talent. All great. Every game they released has been nominated for dozens of awards and won several. Now they can claim Game of the Year for Hades
Hades is an action RPG where you take control of Zagreus, the son of Hades who wants to flee the opulent prison of the underworld and see his mother. Hades, the lord of the underworld and who has been relegated to filling out paperwork behind a giant Ikea desk, first bans you but then gives in and lets you try to escape.
And escape. And escape. And escape. Because you are going to die. A a lot ofAnd dying puts back your escape attempt.
Seriously, if you liked Hades you REALLY should play their similar games. Bastion, their first game, takes place in a world just destroyed by the Calamity, and you have to solve the mystery of what happened and see if you can solve it.
Transistor lets you play as a famous singer-made-mute wielding a sword, the Transistor, into which the soul of a man is put. You have to fight a bunch of robots and save a city. Pretty dope.
When Hades wins Game of the Year from ANY publication, Earth just does f … It does o- … We’re not dead.
