Keanu Reeves made his debut as a comic book maker this month with the release of BRZRKR # 1, the first song in a new series by Boom! Studios portraying an immortal warrior’s 80,000-year battle over the centuries, and now it is reported that Netflix has acquired the rights to the comic for a feature film adaptation and subsequent spin-off of an anime series.

The comic’s official description reads:

The man known only as ‘B’ is semi-mortal and demigod, cursed and forced into violence… even if he sacrifices his sanity. But after wandering the Earth for centuries, B may have finally found refuge – working for the US government to fight battles that are too violent and dangerous for anyone else. In return, B gets the one thing he desires: the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence … and how to end it.

Reeves is set to produce and star in the movie adaptation, as well as his role in the anime series, which will expand the movie. BRZRKR universe by further exploring different elements of the story. Ross Richie and Stephen Christy van Boom are also producing! Studios and Stephen Hamel from Company Films.
