Deadline has unveiled a new one Transformers film is in development Charm City Kings director Angel Manuel Soto, who joins the previously announced movie from Creed II’s Steven Caple Jr. as part of the upcoming series of the franchise.

Soto will direct this latest film in the Transformers franchise with Marco Ramirez, the co-creator and showrunner of Netflix’s limited Marvel team series The defenders, write the script.

There’s no word on what the plot might be, but Paramount and Hasbro have been working to revamp the franchise for a number of years with competing scripts from James Vanderbilt (Murder Mystery) and Joby Harold (Army of the Dead) and his script is chosen for the Caple Jr. film.

There is also an animated prequel describing the beginning of the Autobot and Decepticons war for Cybertron, but there has been no news on that project for a while.

The Transformers franchise has grossed more than $ 4.8 billion in six installments, the first five through 2017 Transformers: The Last Knight were directed by Michael Bay, with Travis Knight assisting in the reboot Bumblebee in 2018.
