VALORANT Patch 2.06 brings Yoru, Viper and Killjoy Buffs, Bucky Changes

With VCT: Masters 1 ready, Riot has kept their word, bringing us Viper and Yoru changes in VALORANT Patch 2.06.

Riot Games leaked it VALORANT Patch 2.06 notes early on, later deleted the message. Here’s everything we gathered before the post was taken down.

Agent updates

Adder

  • Toxin (passive)
    • Enemies who cross through Viper’s Poison Cloud, Toxic Screen, or Viper’s Pit immediately receive at least 50 decay. Their decay level increases the longer they remain in contact with toxins.
    • In the cloud, Decay took over from 15 to 10.
    • When you are out of Viper’s cloud, the delay before you recover health has decreased from 2.5 to 1.5.
  • Poison Cloud (Q)
    • Can now be immediately redeployed on pick-up, but gives a temporary fee instead of a permanent fee
    • If active when Viper dies, Poison Cloud will now remain for 2 seconds, or until Viper is out of fuel
    • The collection distance has increased from 200 to 400.
  • Toxic screen (E)
    • If active when Viper dies, Toxic Screen will now remain active for 2 seconds before deactivating.
    • Full blind distance to the wall increased to better match the blind distance to the edge of smoke.
  • Snake bite (C)
    • Gear time decreased from 1.1 to 0.8 seconds.

Yoru

  • Blind side (Q)
    • Flash activation time decreased from 0.8 to 0.6 seconds
    • Flash duration has been increased from 1.1 to 1.5 seconds
  • Gatecrash (E)
    • Gatecrash no longer refreshes on kills and instead re-feeds every 35 seconds
    • The lifespan of the Gatecrash fragment increased from 20 to 30 seconds
    • The range at which the Gatecrash fragment is revealed from stealth has decreased from 7m to 4m.
    • Visibility range visuals added to the moving clip.
  • Dimensional drift (ultimate)
    • Ult Points reduced from 7 to 6
    • Yoru can now reactivate Gatecrash in Dimensional Drift

Killjoy

  • Nanoswarm (C)
    • Killjoy can now pick up deployed Nanoswarm grenades during the purchase phase to get the chargeback

Weapon updates

Bucky

  • The spread of primary fireballs (left mouse button) decreased from 3.4 to 2.6.
    • Spread on Alt Fire (right click) changed from 3.4 to 2.0.
    • Updated damage curve for both primary and alt-fire
      • 0-8m is 20dmg per pellet
      • 8-12m is 12 dmg per pellet
      • Above 12m is 9dmg per pellet
  • The number of pellets in a right-click shot has been reduced from 15 to 5.

Escalation

  • Capacities
    • Raze’s showstopper now comes with two Blast Pack Charges that refill when you touch the ground.
    • Snowball thrower now comes with skates – the greater mobility should give you an edge over the generally more deadly weapons.
    • Big knife now comes with a Tailwind charge that refills on kill.
    • Equipment variations will be a bit of a surprise, and they will rarely show up.

Competitive updates

  • You can now view a person’s career on the in-game leaderboard.
    • If you’re on the Leaderboard but don’t want to reveal who you are, you can use the in-client switch to label yourself “Secret agent”

Main related transfer function

  • Added an audio switch in the audio settings panel to enable HRTF
    • HRTF allows players with headphones to play audio in a simulated surround sound audio room.
    • Currently, only footsteps, reloads, and Deathmatch respawns are displayed in 3D with HRTF enabled.
      • Recommended to turn off other 3D audio processing while using this function.
