Smyths will offer more PS5 shares in April (Image: SONY)

There may be multiple PS5 stock updates in the UK this week, with the next coming soon.

The latest reports suggest that Smyths Toys could release a small shipment this week, perhaps as early as today.

There’s no guarantee that anything will happen on April 5th, but gamers should be willing to check Smyths to see if anything shows up.

But even if something arrives this week, it’s unlikely there will be enough PS5 consoles to keep up with demand.

Stock tracker accounts suggest the next Smyths PS5 stock will offer a limited number of consoles.

This means that gamers have little chance of buying a PS5 from Smyths, but the good news is that updates are also expected from other retailers.

Both Argos and GAME are also expected to see updates, although they may not arrive until later this week.

According to the PS5 Instant Twitter account, Argos and Game could see a PlayStation 5 addition as early as April 8.

This could be delayed until next week, with Smyths another retailer not resupplying until next week.

Knowing there are more PlayStation shares to come is important, but console hunters also need to know the best ways to get shares from each platform.

Here are a few examples of how best to buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:

ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and not being able to complete purchases when there is a lot of site traffic. Stock trackers suggest using the Argos mobile app and keeping an eye on local store listings.

AMAZON UNITED KINGDOM: Amazon UK is better under tension, but still has a few notable kinks. Having an account with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checkout.

GAME: Game is a UK retailer offering the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase.

Early morning drops are also widespread, with the next updates from Argos expected to arrive around 3am.

Meanwhile, Game UK is a retailer that markets shares later in the day, usually around 10am BST.

PS5 Instant also has a list of times to check leading UK retailer for PS5 stock which can be found below:

  • Amazon 8-9 hours early in the week
  • Very 9-11 am
  • John Lewis 4-7 hours
  • Tesco – Uncollected Orders
  • ASDA 9 am-1pm
  • EE via emails

The latest information from PS5 Instant adds: “Smyths has a small drop of 2000 units planned for the beginning of April. John Lewis has pallets of PS5 in warehouses.

“April is promising for the stock; at least one major retailer comes out every week! With GAME and Amazon receiving at least two large shipments. “
