Academy Award® winner Emma Stone (‘La La Land’) stars in Disney’s ‘Cruella’, an all-new live-action feature about the rebellious early days of one of the most infamous – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil . Set in 1970s London amid the punk rock revolution, “Cruella” follows a young grifter named Estella, a smart and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a few young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they can build a life for themselves on the streets of London. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and hauntingly haute, played by two-time Oscar® winner Emma Thompson (“Howards End”, “Sense & Sensibility”). But their relationship sets in motion a series of events and revelations that lead Estella to embrace her evil side and become the raw, fashionable and vengeful Cruella.
Cruella is directed by Me, Tonya helmer Craig Gillespie, and will be released by Disney on May 28.
