Black Widow made the ultimate sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame when she sacrificed herself so Hawkeye could return to his family and get the Soul Stone to save humanity. We didn’t see the last of her being the kind of prequel though, Black Widow is out this year and will get a glimpse of what Natasha did when she took off at the end of Captain America: Civil War. Some fans have suggested that the Avenger could have been rescued within the multiverse – but why wasn’t she?
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans are often the first to think about how a storyline can be altered or changed to look more like the comics, or to better suit the characters.
Fans often come up with elaborate theories to guess what surprises await them in future movies.
One was a way for Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johanssen, to stay alive despite her fate in Avengers: Endgame.
In the 2019 movie, Natasha sacrificed herself for the Soul Stone, because to win the stone, someone has to give their life.

Could the Avengers have saved Black Widow?
Previously, Thanos had claimed the Soul Stone by his own daughter, Gomora (Zoe Saldana.)
When Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) told his colleagues how the Quantum Realm could be used to change the events of the past, the Avengers went back to that time to reclaim the Infinity Stones for themselves, undoing Thanos’ evil deed. was created.
In doing so, they met Gomora, who was alive and well, although she was not the Gamora they knew.
To change the course of the future, Natasha had to die, but Gomora was alive, which meant the future was a completely different place because the new timeline was created.
Hawkeye in Avengers: Endgame
Some fans have wondered why, given that the recent Disney + series WandaVision showed the potential of a multiverse, the Avengers didn’t go back to another timeline to bring Natasha back.
One of them posed the question on a Quora thread, and many had reasons the Avengers couldn’t have done this.
One user was quick to reply about the moral ambiguity of such a thing.
They said, “The Avengers were careful not to disturb the timelines from which they got the replacement Infinity Stones.
Black Widow in her own movie
- Cineworld cinemas will reopen in May with a new deal for Warner Bros movies
“Their intention was not to leave any timeline defenseless. That’s the whole reason why Cap is returning the Stones and Mjolnir to their timelines of origin.
So they could have taken everyone out of their timeline and taken back with them …
“Taking someone out of a different timeline is tantamount to a selfish act that could potentially create a different timeline, and ultimately leave that timeline less defended.”
Another said, ‘Think about the morality of what you are asking. You ask the Avengers to travel to an alternate universe and kidnap that universe’s Natasha Romanov and bring her back to our universe so we can have her and not her own.
“Don’t you see how sick, twisted and bad such an act would be?”
Another suggested that as Gomora wasn’t herself because of the timeline shifts, neither would Natasha be who they knew and loved.
They said, “Their Natasha was a culmination of experiences, feelings, and they knew her as a unique person. They all came to love her in a special way and she loved them.
Another Black Widow would look the same, talk the same and fight the same as their Black Widow, but she wouldn’t be the same, do the same, think the same.
“Just as Gamora from 2014 pre-Guardians has no love for Quill, she hasn’t been through everything the future Gamora did, so that’s not Quill’s Gamora.”
The ending of Avengers: Endgame saw Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) promise to go after Gomora and bring her back to them, since, as the Quora user said, their love didn’t blossom like it was from another time.
Technically, the answer to whether Natasha could have been brought back through a different timeline is unequivocal confirmation.
However, with the moral implications, it’s clear that some fans are wondering if this should happen at all.
Black Widow will be released in theaters on July 9, 2021 and on Disney Plus
