Martin Scorsese Killers of the Flower Moon, based on David Grann’s bestseller Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI, would always be high on the public’s most wanted list with Robert DeNiro, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jesse Plemons before being picked up by Apple. Now the writer has spoken to Eric Roth Collider about how the legendary director took his $ 200 million budget and created “one for the ages.”

Killers of the Flower Moon takes place in the 1920s and tells the story of one of the FBI’s first major investigations – the gruesome murders of members of the Native American Osage Nation, whose land in Oklahoma was over a large stockpile of crude oil. Roth spoke of how the adaptation has been a lengthy process, including the recast of the cast with DiCaprio changing the roles from the hero, now played by Jesse Plemons, to a less renowned character in the sprawling Western story.

He said, “I think this is my fifth year or six years. And there were some changes that came about that were interesting about what Leonardo would play in it. I think in the long run – we’ve all had our moments figuring out how best to portray things because the story is so impressive – and I think we got just the right material and Marty made the right decisions taken. I just think he’s going to make it – and I’d say this of course – but I think [of] all my work, this could be one of the great movies. I really mean that. I think it has all the ingredients that I don’t want to ruin with it, but the story is so important. “

Roth, who has The initiate Forest Gump, and Munich added to his resume, “I know Marty is trying to make a movie that is probably the last western to be made like that, and yet, with this incredible social document underneath, and the violence and the environment. I think in a sense it won’t be anything we’ve ever seen. And so for me this one is one for all ages. “
