Rumors have been circulating for weeks, but now we actually know when Apple is holding its next big launch event. The American tech company has just sent out invitations to the media, and the date that every fan should include in their diary is April 20.

That’s when Tim Cook and co took the stage at the company’s Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino to show the world what new innovations they’ve been working on.

As with all launches of the US technology company, the company teased what could be coming soon with the words “Spring Loaded. Join us at a special Apple Event at Apple Park.” splattered about the invitation.

Of course, that’s all the official news we know so far, with Apple always keeping its announcements secret until the date of the event.

However, there are already plenty of rumors about what could be revealed next Tuesday, including the launch of a new iPad Pro.

This next-gen tablet is expected to get a faster processor, longer battery life and an improved camera, but it’s the screen that sounds like the most exciting upgrade.

The premium Pro, which has not been upgraded since March 2020, is thought to get a striking Mini LED panel instead of the current Retina display. This update could provide improved brightness, contrast and less chance of afterimage burn-in – something more common with current OLED displays.

Another change could be the inclusion of a Thunderbolt port charging port that could replace the standard USB-C connection. If true, it should improve data transfer times significantly which is great news for professional users.

Apple’s events are rarely about just one product, and other rumors suggest the company could announce the launch of new entry-level AirPods that will have a similar design to the premium AirPods Pro.

The long-rumored gadget tracking AirTags can also show up with these mini gadgets that stick with your tech and reveal where they are if they get lost.

Expect lots of exciting news to be revealed at the event and express.co.uk will bring you the latest gossip and reaction live from next Tuesday’s keynote.

It starts at 6pm, so check back often for the latest updates.
