Fortnite developer Epic Games has released a new update on Nintendo Switch, PC and Android devices.

The surprising midweek update fixes an issue discovered after the release of last week’s major update.

The good news is that the new Fortnite update doesn’t require server downtime, so you can continue playing after it’s installed.

The update also enables the Grapple Bow, which is available from Lara Croft for 500 Gold.

As you can see from the patch notes below, the new update also re-enables the limited-time event Aloy and Lara.

It all started when the Lara and Aloy LTM did not appear on certain platforms: “We are aware that the Team Up! Aloy & Lara LTM is not currently appearing on some platforms. We are working on a fix.

“The Team Up! Aloy & Lara LTM has been temporarily disabled until the mode is activated on all platforms. This mode will now start the week of April 19. Stay tuned for an update on when players can get in.”

Fortunately, the new update has fixed the problem so expect the LTM to return soon.

“We have released a maintenance patch on Nintendo Switch, PC and Android that will allow Team Up! Aloy & Lara to appear on these platforms when the LTM returns later this week,” reads the latest Epic tweet.

“We will provide an update when the LTM is active again.”

The new update will launch just a few days after the release of Fortnite version 16.20.

In addition to a host of bug fixes and gameplay changes, the recent Fortnite update adds a new set of tires for off-road riding.

The Chonkers off-road tires can be fitted to vehicles to make them more suitable for racing in the wild.

It’s a useful new addition, especially if you’ve ever been caught in a storm while driving a regular car across the bumpy landscape.

The news was announced on Twitter along with a brand new trailer: “Chonkers off-road tires are built to withstand the toughest driving conditions and make it easier to go off-road in any vehicle.

“Jump in the game and give them a spin!”

Needless to say, the recent update also fixed some of the more annoying bugs, including an issue with some Battle Pass missions.

Likewise, update 16.20 improves visibility of storms in Performance mode and also re-introduces Slurpshrooms and Coconuts.
