Microsoft Teams users will soon be able to try out a potentially groundbreaking new tool. The Dynamic View feature was first unveiled by Microsoft last year, with fans having to wait a long time for the final rollout. But Teams users are now one step closer to the global Dynamic View release date, with the feature now available in the Teams preview channel.

When Dynamic View was first announced last July, Microsoft said it would give Teams users more control over how they see shared content and other participants in a meeting.

Shared content and specific people in a meeting can be displayed side by side, with this viewpoint personalized to a user’s preferences and needs.

However, Dynamic View’s main selling point is the way it can automatically adjust what’s on screen during a meeting – thanks to the power of AI.

As Microsoft explains in the 365 RoadmapTo: “Dynamic rendering automatically optimizes shared content and video participants in Teams meetings.

“New controls let you customize the display to your preferences and needs, such as the ability to show shared content and specific participants side by side.”

The smart new tool could lead to more engagement among participants thanks to the way it can automatically adjust and optimize the shared content shown during a meeting.

The Dynamic View feature had previously been introduced in pencil for a March release date.

But now the 365 Roadmap says it should be generally available in April.

With the time of the month running out, we will have to see if the position meets that deadline or not.

In other Microsoft Teams news, the Breakout Rooms feature got a minor tweak this week.

Organizers who have set up a breakout room in Teams can now set a time limit for a session.

To do this, organizers need to go to the Breakout Room Settings panel and then enable ‘set a time limit’.

The timer is activated when the first participant enters a breakout room, and when there are only 60 seconds left on the clock, all participants are alerted.

Once the time is up, the room will automatically close and the participants will return to the main meeting. So you need to make sure you’ve rammed through your calendar for the day before the timer hits zero.
