What exactly is going on with Overwatch? Significant updates to the original game have largely dried up, and the cooperative Overwatch 2, first announced in 2019, remains largely hidden with no release date in sight. It was truly the honor of a lifetime to have the opportunity to create worlds and heroes for such a passionate audience. Blizzard is currently going through a difficult transition period. The company has been hit by layoffs and is reportedly under pressure from the Activision arm of the company to release more mainstream content. Overwatch is available now on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch, and can be played on Xbox Series X / S and PS5 via backward compatibility. No platforms nor a release date have been announced for Overwatch 2.
