Spaceships and green screen feature in the first set of photos from Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

In December, Patty Jenkins, the first woman ever to lead a big screen adventure in a galaxy far, far away, revealed that Star Wars: Rogue Squadron was quite advanced. Well, the Wonder Woman director wasn’t kidding, because these first photos from the set in Essex have appeared via the Daily Mail, with lots of green screen and sprung spaceships ready for dogfights between the stars.

Looks a bit like the Jakku junkyard supervised by Unkar Plutt The Force Awakens, the set contains a series of spaceships of different sizes in different construction stages, all ready to be placed against the green screen for the wizards of ILM to work their magic.

Revealed next to a flurry of Star Wars related content at Disney’s Investor conference last Christmas, Rogue Squadron is scheduled for release on December 22, 2023. The full set of photos is on display here.
