Why Warzone servers may not be available today
A lot of events and new content will be released in Call of Duty Warzone this week, most of it scheduled around the Season 3 launch.
And gamers should be aware that there will be a big event starting at 8pm BST called Operation Rapid Sunder.
This will add a special playlist to the game for fans to complete that is expected to end with the destruction of the current Verdansk map.
This will reportedly be followed by the launch of an updated version of the Battle Royale level, complete with new highlights.
Following today’s event, a new Warzone update will be released on Thursday, April 22 at 5am BST.
This includes all of the content from Season 3, including the new map mentioned above. This is coming to the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms simultaneously.
So while no maintenance is scheduled for the Call of Duty server downtime today, there is a chance that you will run into problems at some point.
WHY AM I IN A WARZONE QUEUE?
When the going gets tough in Call of Duty Warzone, servers can wobble and gamers can be booted to the home screen.
And sometimes gamers will find that they are unable to connect to Warzone servers and will end up in a queue.
This usually involves a countdown of how long to wait, but these numbers can range from very long to very short and are not always accurate.
With so many different things happening today, here’s a list of times when you may not be able to play on Warzone servers:
- Warzone Nuke Event – 8pm BST
This is when the new event starts and a special playlist is added to Call of Duty Warzone. A wave of players are expected to try to gain access at the same time.
This could be when some gamers get stuck in queues until the first rush is over.
- Warzone Nuke Event – 10:00 PM BST
Activision has shared a list of timings, including something happening today at 10pm BST. We don’t know what this means, but it may cause some interference.
- Warzone Season 3 update and start time – 5pm BST on April 22
This could be another time when servers come under pressure again and Warzone queues return.
The good news is that this is done very early in the morning to avoid extreme server problems, and a preload is already available on PS4 consoles. This combination should ensure that everything runs smoothly.
It should be noted that there may be no issues today and hopefully everyone can enjoy the new Warzone event and Season 3 release without any issues.
