FFXIV Character Concept Artist explains how his Korpokkur came to be

The last person to appear is FFXIV Character Concept Artist Hiroyuki Nagamine, creator of the Korpokkur. Nagamine talked about how it came about and how he kept asking, “Why don’t we turn it into a mountain?”

The FFXIV Korpokkur emerged when Nagamine was asked about the most memorable design he had created for the game. He wrote:

I remember struggling to come up with a design that I was happy with. Since a botanical garden was to be added to the game, I was asked for “a monster that looks like a moss ball with arms and legs.” The Koropokkur’s facial expression and the upside-down magazine were my ideas, but it was really hard to come up with a clear expression.

Nagamine also said the Storm blood Four Lords were also memorable, specifically mentioning that Suzaku was his favorite.
