This month’s list of free PS Plus games includes a total of three titles that can be downloaded and played on PS5.

Unlike Games with Gold, all three titles will be available for installation on all platforms from Tuesday, May 6.

The games chosen by Sony include Battlefield V, Stranded Deep and Wreckfest: Drive Hard. Die last.

All three of these games are available to download and play on PS5 consoles, but not all of them can be played on PlayStation 4 consoles.

As in the past, Sony has opted to release a game on PlayStation Plus that is already available on PS4 but can only be played on PS5.

This would be Wreckfest, which will be available for download as a PS5 title on May 6.

A message from Sony adds, “Burn rubber, break rules and shred metal in this full-contact racer from the creator of the FlatOut.

Race and upgrade patched cars, improve their looks and enhance their body armor to survive epic crashes and neck-and-neck battles across the finish line in competitive races.

“Enjoy some hilarity in the Challenge modes as you get behind the wheel of harvesters, tricycles and more, then challenge your friends online in multiplayer for up to 24 players.

“PS5 console only; PlayStation Plus benefit does not apply to Wreckfest: Drive Hard, Die Last on PS4. “

Wreckfest will be different on PS5, with the development team confirming support for 60 FPS and 4K resolution.

There will also be faster loading times. improved lighting, visual effects and 24-player multiplayer.

Meanwhile, the PS5 version of Wreckfest will cost money when released on PlayStation Store, which will be on June 1 for those who don’t have a PS Plus subscription.

Wreckfest will be available digitally and in a box for $ 39.99 / € 39.99 / £ 34.99. Wreckfest owners on PS4 can upgrade to the upgraded PS5 for $ 9.99 / € 9.99.

And here’s an overview of the added improvements:

  • Dynamic dirt on vehicles
  • Improved shadows, particles and ambient lighting
  • Textures with a higher resolution
  • Increased amount of leaves
  • Godrays
  • New visual effects for skidmarks
  • DualSense haptic effects
  • Much faster loading times.

What will annoy PS Plus subscribers on PS4 is that this is the latest game that they can’t download, even though it’s available on both consoles.

This is just like when Manhunter was added to PlayStation Plus in January, but only the PS5 version.

While it will be disappointing for those with a PlayStation 4 console, there is a silver lining.

While you won’t be able to play Wreckfest on PS4 next week, you can add it to your PlayStation Network library.

And that means if you decide to buy a PlayStation 5 console in the future, there will be a game waiting for you.

And as a reminder, the PlayStation Plus games for April – Oddworld: Soulstorm, Days Gone and Zombie Army 4: Dead War are leaving on Monday, May 3, meaning you’ll have to add them before they disappear.
