Zelda 35th Anniversary and Breath of the Wild 2 release date update
If you’re still hoping that Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 could get a 2021 release on the Nintendo Switch, then you just got a timely boost. Leading up to E3 2021, in which Nintendo is participating this year, Zelda fans have received a small update on the development of Breath of the Wild 2. Monolith Soft – best known for the Xenoblade series – has supported the development of a number of first party Nintendo games, such as Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing.
And they’re back at it, helping develop the highly anticipated Breath of the Wild 2.
And while fans await an update on how work on BoTW 2 is progressing, Monolith has revealed they are hiring people for a “big raise” at its Kyoto studio.
Dozens of new reels are listed on Monolith’s site, and while most are unrelated to a specific game, five of the openings are related to The Legend of Zelda series.
Which is probably related to work on Breath of the Wild 2.
News of the vacancies was reported by GamingBolt, and could be a sign that the development on BoTW 2 is moving up a gear.
That could only be good news for those hoping Breath of the Wild 2 gets a 2021 release date, but we’ll have to wait and see.
We could see more news about Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 drop at E3, with Nintendo’s big June Direct ready to return during this year’s edition of the big gaming expo.
In addition to Zelda Breath of the Wild 2, what Nintendo has planned for the series’ 35th anniversary is another major point of discussion for fans.
February marked 35 years since the Zelda series first launched, but unlike the Mario 35th Anniversary, Nintendo did not announce how they would celebrate this occasion around Link’s big birthday, Zelda et al.

Rumor has it that Nintendo could reveal more about the Zelda 35th Anniversary plans at E3 Direct.
And we may have discovered exactly what Nintendo has in store, thanks to leaker Nate the Hate.
In a new YouTube video Nate the Hate and MVG discussed what Nintendo could have planned for 2021.
And speaking specifically of the Zelda anniversary, a double release of Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD was proposed.
Other Zelda games tipped for a Switch release include HD versions of N64 classics Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask.
Nate the Hate and MVG predicted these games would get eShop releases rather than bundled with Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.
We won’t know for much longer, though, with E3 taking place between June 12-15 as a digital event. The June Nintendo Direct will take place sometime in between.
