PS5 stock UK news for May
According to new reports coming out this week, May will be bringing new PS5 shares to UK gamers.
April has been disappointing for console hunters, with only a few retailers offering deals on minimal restocking options.
The good news is that while there have been a ton of stock delays in the UK, thousands of PS5 consoles should become available from various retailers in May.
A shortlist of stores that are expected to receive stock declines in the coming weeks has been shared, with Very, Argos and GAME the best.
And based on what has been shared so far, it looks like we have the earliest date when the first restocking could take place.
This can be split across at least two different dates, including delayed units from April.
And other storefronts are also expected to be refreshed, including Amazon and Very.
These probably aren’t the only UK retailers to offer PS5 consoles in May, so gamers will want to keep an eye on all the leading stores.
Based on Tweets from PS5 Instant, the earliest PS5 stock update could be on May 3rd, and it could be from Argos.
However, Very reportedly will also get PlayStation 5 shares in early May, followed by Amazon and GAME.
Tweets from PS5 Instant – a trusted stock tracker account – add this news: “PS5 UK Stock will not be released this Monday. Very shipping will arrive soon.
“PS5 UK stocks look very promising; Argos has a record number in stock. May PS5 UK Shipping biggest so far. Major retailers are getting more stock than ever! Make sure scalpers are at a loss.
“We are currently looking at PS5 restocks at GAME & Argos between May 10th and 17th. GAME will receive 25,000 units and twice stock next month. “
While we have a new early date for the first PlayStation 5 stock update, that doesn’t mean things will start early.
The week of May 10 could be the start of another wave, with both Amazon and GAME expected to offer bundling options.
Others are expected to follow, but it’s unclear at this point how many units will be included.
As usual, gamers will have to take this latest news with a grain of salt until something is officially announced.
PlayStation 5 consoles remain in high demand, and even with some major stock drops expected in May, supply is unlikely to keep up with demand.
Gamers have been warned several times that it could take months for enough next-gen consoles to become available, meaning some in the UK will wait until summer.
However, other recent reports suggest it could take longer, meaning problems could persist into the busy November season.
Knowing there are more PlayStation shares to come is important, but console hunters also need to know the best ways to get shares from each platform.
Here are a few examples of how best to buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:
AMAZON UNITED KINGDOM: Amazon UK is under better tension, but still has a few notable kinks. Having an account with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checkout.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer offering the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. GAME is expected to get the next major addition in May 2021.
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and not being able to complete purchases when there is a lot of site traffic. Stock trackers suggest using the Argos mobile app and keeping an eye on the local store listings. Argos is not expected to receive any more shares until May 3.
