Bandai Namco revealed more information about the different systems in Tales of Arise, including the skill tree. A broadcast on May 1, 2021 revealed new information about the skill tree and yielded even more combat footage. In addition, the developers have released information about various changes that will come in the series, such as the use of an orchestra for creating the background music. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
The said broadcast was broadcast via the Japanese streaming service NicoNico. The video is currently available to watch and there is no indication that it will be removed anytime soon. However, it is only available in Japanese and has no option for subtitles in another language. The Tales of Arise segment, with a look at the skill tree system, starts at 40:00.
The developers briefly discussed the system and showed that each character will have a unique skill tree. Players can use acquired SP to unlock various skills. In addition, viewers were treated to another glimpse of how combat will function Tales of Arise. This included a somewhat short combat segment, which further showed how the new “Boost Strike” system works.
Tales of Arise will be released to the Japanese public on September 9, 2021 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. The western release will arrive on September 10, 2021.
