Later this year, Atlus will celebrate 25 years of the Persona series. September will mark a quarter of a century since the first Persona game was released on PS1, and Atlus has already teased that they have “exciting” plans in store for the occasion. And there may have been a subtle hint that a Persona 5 Arena fighting game could be launched as part of the anniversary festivities.

As reported by Persona Central, Atlus has updated some website addresses that were about to expire.

Domains such as PERSONA8.JP, PERSONA9.JP and PERSONA10.JP were updated, while the P5AG.JP, P3D.JP, P5D.JP and 13C.JP URLs were not.

Now that the PERSONA-DANCE.JP site is up and running, it is understandable that the P3D.JP and P5D.JP websites have not been updated.

Although it is unclear what 13C.JP and P5AG.JP could be for.

However, there was a curious looking URL that was extended until the end of April next year.

And that domain is for P5U.JP, with those initials used in Japan for the Persona Arena games developed by Arc System Works.

Persona 4 Arena was known as P4U in the Land of the Rising Sun, and the discovery of this website has sparked speculation that a Persona 5 fighting game could be in the works.

With just a few weeks left until E3, there’s a possibility that we’ll see news about the Persona 25th Anniversary celebrations drop by then.

Atlus parent company SEGA is confirmed to be attending the iconic gaming expo, returning this year as a digital-only event.

Alternatively, Atlus may choose to run a standalone event to announce its Persona anniversary plans closer to the big anniversary.

Late last year, Kazuhisa Wada, the director of Persona 4 Arena, teased that Atlus had some “exciting” plans in store to celebrate the upcoming anniversary.

About what Persona fans can look forward to in 2021, the Persona Dancing director and producer of Persona 5 Royal said, “We are quietly working on our projects.

“Thanks to your support, this year marks the 25th anniversary of the ‘Persona’ series! We have some exciting plans in the works, so please look forward to it!”
