Sunset Overdrive, one of Insomniac’s most unique games, is currently only available on PC and Xbox One, but it looks like the franchise will finally make its debut on PlayStation consoles in the future.
Sony Interactive Entertainment recently released it Sunset Overdrive trademark, suggesting a possible release of the original game or a sequel to PlayStation consoles. The original release is exclusive to the Xbox One console, but Insomniac Games owns the IP address, so anything is possible right now.
Sunset Overdrive is unlike most of the open world games available in the market right now, so PlayStation users are missing out on a really fun game. The game’s PC port, while mostly proficient, lacks some of the features seen in the Xbox One release, such as co-op multiplayer.
Sunset Overdrive is one of the few open-world games that stands out from the competition with its unique and crazy setting, Parkour system and frantic gameplay experience, all of this faithfully reproduced in the PC port. While solid, the port lacks some of the features expected of a PC game these days: this, coupled with the removal of co-op multiplayer, hurts the experience. However, if you have no other way to enjoy the game, Sunset Overdrive on PC is well worth your time and money.
Sunset Overdrive is now available worldwide on PC and Xbox One.
