A shortlist of UK retailers is linked to a large shipment of PS5 consoles due to launch in May 2021.

And the good news is that the first consoles may arrive this week from players like Argos, Very and GAME.

As usual, there is always the risk of delays and changes to plans when it comes to the timing of PS5 restocking.

But even if nothing new comes out in the next few days, it will be a very busy week between May 10 and May 14.

And in early May, a new retailer was added to the list of potential suppliers, with Amazon UK linked to a major shipment.

According to PS5 Instant – a reliable stock tracker account on Twitter – Amazon is planning new drops for next week.

The latest post reads, “PS5 stock for Amazon should still be 10-17. PS5 shipments are starting to arrive in warehouses across the UK. “

Other stock tracker accounts aren’t so sure about it though, with the PS5 UK Stock Alert account on Twitter being shared today:

“There is currently no hard evidence or rumor that there will be any new supply in the Amazon, but there may be unexpected replenishment out of the blue, as we’ve seen at Smyths Toys.

John Lewis expects PlayStation 5 shipments to arrive between May 3rd and 8th. There is no information about the stock count. They should go live with a drop between 11 and 13 May. “

Argos is expected to be one of the first UK retailers to offer a PlayStation 5 restock in May, although it could also be Very or GAME.

There is still hope that there will be a PS5 stock drop this week, but if not, it means a major drop in the week of May 10th.

A message from PS5 UK Stock Alert adds: “Some PlayStation 5 shipments arrived at Argos warehouses earlier today. The remainder of the shipments allocated for Argos are expected to arrive this Thursday, while supplies will be distributed over the weekend, ready for May 11. “

PlayStation 5 consoles remain in high demand, and even with some major stock drops expected in May, supply is unlikely to keep up with demand.

Gamers have been warned several times that it could take months for enough next-gen consoles to become available, meaning some in the UK will wait until summer.

However, other recent reports suggest it could take longer, meaning problems could persist into the busy November season.

Knowing there are more PlayStation shares to come is important, but console hunters also need to know the best ways to get shares from each platform.

Here are a few examples of how best to buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:

AMAZON UNITED KINGDOM: Amazon UK is under better tension, but still has a few notable kinks. Having an account with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checkout.

GAME: GAME is a UK retailer offering the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. GAME is expected to get the next major addition in May 2021.

ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and not being able to complete purchases when there is a lot of site traffic. Stock trackers suggest using the Argos mobile app and keeping an eye on the local store listings. Argos will not receive any more shares until 5 May at the earliest.
