Destiny 2 Season 14 news
Bungie has announced its plans to launch Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer on Tuesday, May 11.
This will be a unified release, meaning Guardians will start playing simultaneously on PS4, Xbox One, PC and next-gen consoles.
Destiny 2 Season 14 features a brand new story in which Guardians are tasked with stopping the Vex, meaning you’ll have to dive back into the Vault of Glass Raid.
The Vault will feel very familiar to fans, but there will be some notable differences, with Bungie telling fans:
“Our goal is not to fundamentally evolve this raid into something completely new. So this will be the first race (outside of the previous hard modes) in which players have a broad understanding of what to expect, while still dealing with changes to adapt to.
“Vault of Glass is started with competition mode on for 24 hours. You must be at 1300 Power to be at the top of all encounters.
“Clearing Vault of Glass while Contest Mode is active is the first step to accessing the new Challenge Mode in the Director and Tempo’s Edge Triumph.
“Completing Tempo’s Edge, a curated list of Triumphs, in this newly unlocked Challenge Mode will be how a fireteam crosses the World First finish line and claim their prize.
“To enforce the Triumph requirements in Challenge mode, if you fail to meet the conditions for success, your team will sweep during each encounter.”
Guardians will also have to hack the Vex Network from the inside as part of the new six-player seasonal Override activity, earn new gear and more.
“The Vex threatens the safety of all who live in the Last City and plunges the sanctuary of mankind into an endless night.
Guardians must team up with Mithrax, Kell of the House of Light, who will teach them the ways of a Sacred Splicer. It is up to the Vanguard to deploy new Splicer technology to disable the simulation and restore sunlight. “
Bungie has the Destiny 2 Season 14 release date scheduled for Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
And since this will happen during the weekly reset, we can expect the splitter’s season to start around 6pm BST.
This will be followed by the return of the Vault of Glass on May 22, complete with new content.
Season 14 will also see the launch of Armor Synthesis, Destiny’s transmog system, which allows Guardians to create a universal ornament from any piece of armor a Guardian owns.
Season Pass owners also get instant access to the Exotic Stasis Sidearm Cryosthesia 77K, Season-specific Universal Ornaments, XP boosts that accelerate season wins and unlocks along their reward track.
