Sky’s NOW offers some good TV discounts (Image: NOW • GETTY)

Sky may offer one of the best ways to watch television, but the award-winning Q service has one big catch. Anyone looking to tune in to this popular service must sign up for a long contract, with most deals requiring customers to sign up for at least 18 months. That’s a pretty big commitment, especially since most plans start from around £ 27 a month.

Fortunately, there is another way to look at Sky without having to draw on the dotted line with the recently revamped NOW (formerly NOW TV) offering a contract-free way to send content directly to your television.

NOW is a streaming service, meaning everything you watch comes over the internet instead of a dish drilled into your wall, but as long as your internet connection can stand it, it’s an easy way to access a whole host of extra channels.

As if that weren’t enough to get you thinking about switching to NOW, the Sky service has restarted a number of deals that offer full access to Sky Sports, Entertainment and Cinema at much cheaper prices.

First, there’s a deal with a Sky Entertainment and Cinema pass for £ 14.99 – that’s a whopping 40 percent off the usual cost. This discount is valid for one month and includes a 7-day trial of NOW Boost, which offers full HD quality content and the ability to watch on more devices at the same time.

If it’s Sky Sports you’re watching then there’s one more bargain you can grab.

NOW’s limited-time offer includes 11 Sky Sports channels for £ 25 a month – that’s a savings of £ 8.99 off the usual price.

You will receive this discount for the first three months and you can cancel at any time. In addition to the cheaper cost, there’s also that 7-day free trial of NOW Boost.

Here are all the channels included in the deal

Sky Sports Premier League • Sky Sports Football • Sky Sports F1 • Sky Sports Cricket • Sky Sports Arena • Sky Sports Racing • Sky Sports Golf • Sky Sports Mix • Sky Sports NFL • Sky Sports News • Sky Sports Main Event.

It’s worth noting that in addition to a good internet connection, you also need a smart device to access NOW.

This Sky service is available on devices such as Samsung, Sony and LG smart TVs, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, smartphones, Apple TV, Roku and Chromecast.
