Two original cast members from The flash will soon be leaving Central City as Deadline has revealed that both Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh are leaving the long-running superhero series after the seventh season.

Cavanagh has played a host of different characters, most centered around scientist Harrison Wells and his various alternate incarnations. Reports indicate that Cavanagh would initially leave the series after Season 6, but continued to complete storylines and has since been announced as a special guest star. Valdes, on the other hand, will remain a series regular until the finale of Season 7.

In a statement, showrunner Eric Wallace promised that the door is still open for both actors to return: “Tom and Carlos have been an integral part of our show for seven seasons and will be sorely missed. Both are incredible talents who have created beloved characters that fans and audiences around the world have come to love.
