Do you remember the Saw and Texas Chainsaw Massacre skins last year? Looks like new adaptations are coming to Call of Duty Warzone and it’s going to be awesome ’90s action stars!
For those born before or in the 1980s era, they would have glorified great actors like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Silvester Stallone, and Bruce Willis. If you’re playing COD Warzone, this might be your chance to become one of your action star idols in the form of skins.
The franchise’s official Twitter account recently posted this:
Those “5 games” clearly mean the five Rambo movies, and the Survivor John gamertag is a reference to the full name John Rambo, a survivor of the few wars he’s involved in. I have not yet discovered the other statistics, but it is probably in direct reference to some facts in the film series.
The following Twitter post is this:
The caption in the image says “Nakatomi Duct Cleaning,” which is a direct reference to the building where John McClane was trapped and he came through the floors through the air ducts. He also says the line “Yippee Ki Yay”, which also appears in the picture. It’s too obvious, so there is.
Any fan of the 80s action movie will be familiar with all of these references, and from the messages it is highly likely that Activision will drop content directly related to it. With the launch of Verdansk 1984, it’s the perfect timing to release some great skins related to these cool action stars.
Call of Duty Warzone is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
