Autumn Games, Future Club and Hidden Variable disclosed that fan-favorite hunter Umbrella (and Hungern) will find their way Skullgirls 2nd Encora Skullgirls Mobile. Umbrella will be the second DLC fighter in the game’s Season 1 Pass. The trio of companies posted a detailed blog post about their addition, including a rough Q4 2021 release date for their latest build.
The three companies have updated fans with one to break down of how they want to implement Umbrella in Skullgirls 2nd Encore. The teams provided the information beforehand by stating that the character is still early in development. Umbrella will be a slow and heavy hunter with great swings. One of her tricks is that Hungern’s appetite will turn into fights. After certain actions or time has passed, his hunger level affects Umbrella’s moves. Players can try to keep Hungern’s specific windows of his appetite, such as “starved” and “overcrowded,” for bonus effects.
Steam users can play as the character sooner than anyone else. In July 2021, Season 1 Pass owners will be able to try out a ‘sketchy’ alpha build of Umbrella Skullgirls 2nd Encore. After that, the team will move the character to beta and early access in Q3 2021. The final build and its story mode will launch sometime in Q4 2021. The team even teased that they might have a look ready for the third Season 1 Pass DLC character then. The developers used a similar release pattern for the first DLC character in Season 1, Annie.
Skullgirls 2nd Encore is now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. Skullgirls Mobile is available on Android and iOS devices. Both Skullgirls 2nd Encore and the Season 1 Pass, including Umbrella now for sale on Steam.
