Ever had the urge to survive with your wits and moxie like a good old fashioned con man? I probably don’t have the social skills to get it done, but hey, who hasn’t thought about it now and then? Well, The Big Con allows you to get your plans out of your system without those nasty consequences in the real world! Developed by Canadian indie studio Mighty Yell and published by Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Games, The Big Con offers all the pickpocketing, stealing and scheming you could wish for, along with a tubular 90s art style. Interesting stuff, and I love ToeJam & Earl’s funky 90s styling. Want to know more? Here’s the official description for The Big Con:

The Big Con stars Ali, a teenage con man who tries to save her mother’s video store from unscrupulous loan sharks in every possible way. In this open-ended adventure with spirited puzzles and dialogues, the way players make that money is in their hands: pickpockets, pick locks, convince markers, steal prizes, sneak around dressed up and even take advantage of the latest craze. From the visuals to the writing, The Big Con is a fun and hilarious journey back in time to a time that is now further away than some of us would like to admit.

The Big Con Features:

  • A comical narrative adventure game with open-ended situations, puzzles and exploration.
  • Live the engraving! Pickpocket, sneak, wear disguises and cheat everyone.
  • Speak your way to deals and out of trouble.
  • Meet, rip, or help out a weird cast of ’90s characters (if you feel like it).
  • Call home and argue with your mother.

The Big Con will be playing its volatile business on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S sometime this summer.
