On Friday, Blizzard will take the WoW Classic Auction House offline as part of the lead-up to the launch of the major World of Warcraft Burning Crusade pre-patch.

The good news is that everything will be back online later this month, meaning it won’t be long before normal business has resumed.

But for anyone in a hurry, the best thing to do is to finalize the trades you hope to complete this week in the next few hours.

From what has been shared by Blizzard, the WoW Classic Auction House will be offline at 6pm BST.

The Auction House is scheduled to return on May 18, following the release of the new WoW Classic TBC pre-patch.

A message from Blizzard explains: “To get our game service ready for both the upgrade to The Burning Crusade Classic and the availability of Classic Era realms on May 18th, we will close the Auction Houses on all WoW Classic realms at 10:00 AM a.m. PDT (1:00 p.m. EDT) on Friday, May 14.

“We expect Auction Houses to be available again when game service resumes after maintenance on May 18.

“We recommend WoW Classic players to refrain from posting new auctions shortly before closing as it will not be possible for other players to access the AH afterwards and the deposit fee cannot be refunded.”

As mentioned above, WoW Classic’s pre-patch won’t arrive until May 18, with many changes on the agenda.

The pre-expansion will take just a few weeks, and The Burning Crusade will kick off June 1.

World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic launches simultaneously in America, Europe, Taiwan, Korea and Australia / New Zealand.

With the Burning Crusade Classic pre-patch, all WoW Classic realms will transition to the Burning Crusade Classic expansion.

Beyond the Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands lies an empire shattered by the machinations of the Burning Legion: Outland, the once beautiful orc homeworld of Draenor.

Seek the mysteries starting June 1, when Burning Crusade Classic launches around the world.

“But for that every hero has to make a choice. Starting May 18, after each regionally scheduled maintenance, the Burning Crusade Classic Pre-expansion patch will be released, and each character will have to choose whether to progress to Burning Crusade, go to a Classic Era realm, or use the Character Clone service to play in both spell.

Heroes who choose to cross the Dark Portal end up on Hellfire Peninsula, an aptly named barren wasteland where boys and cruel demons roam free.

“The established outposts of Thrallmar (for the Horde) and Honor Hold (for the Alliance) are unable to deter this endless stream of darkness on their own.

“It’s up to you to fight for this shattered world to save it from evil … or watch the demonic inhabitants eat everything you hold dear.”
