When your current cell phone contract has ended, now may be a good time to go shopping. The SMARTY network has just announced that it is dropping the cost of its fully unlimited SIM card to just £ 18 per month, making it one of the cheapest ways to access the internet without limit.

In addition to that unlimited data, there are also unlimited calls and texts. But that is not everything. One of the most popular reasons for moving to this network is that you will not be asked to sign up for a long-term contract.

That basically means that if something better comes up, or you just don’t think you need unlimited data anymore, you can leave this provider and move to another provider without having to wait,

SMARTY, which uses Three’s 3G and 4G signal, says this unlimited SIM deal will be available until July 13. Now before you are in a hurry to hit the order button, it’s worth noting that this offer doesn’t include access to the latest 5G data speeds.

This next generation network technology allows you to download files at speeds in excess of 300 Mbps, which is faster than with a fixed broadband connection.

The other thing to note is that if you’re happy to sign up for a long-term contract, you can save a little bit of money.

Three offers its unlimited data plan at half price for the first six months and then costs £ 20 a month for the remainder of the term.

For the 24 month plan you pay £ 420 and this contract includes 5G.

If you stayed with SMARTY for 24 months you’d pay a total of £ 432 – that’s £ 12 more and there’s no 5G. There are of course plenty of other deals on the market right now where Vodafone is offering 160 GB of 5G data for the price of 20 GB.

EE also has its 120 GB 5G ready SIM card for £ 20 a month. It’s worth noting that for 5G speeds you also need a 5G ready smartphone like the new iPhone 12 or Galaxy S21.

It’s worth checking that your device is compatible with this service before signing up.
