A new report suggests there could be one last PS5 stock drop in May, courtesy of Smyths Toys.

The British retailer has been pretty quiet in recent weeks, with parties such as Argos, Amazon and GAME providing the largest restocks of next-gen consoles.

But a new report out this week suggests that May could see another stock drop, and that could happen today.

It should be noted that this remains a prediction for now, meaning this new stock drop could happen between May 28 and June 5.

And that’s a pretty wide variety of dates, even if you take the weekend out of the equation.

The information has been shared by the PS5 Instant Twitter account, which has made solid predictions in the past.

Unfortunately, we don’t have time to check out the Smyths website which means the stock drop could happen at any time.

In the past, Smyths has opted to release consoles in the evenings, but there’s no way to know if it’ll stick with this pattern.

And Smyths could be joined by several other retailers reportedly planning to release consoles in June.

Based on what has been shared so far, the new PS5 Amazon stock will drop between June 2 and June 9.

Meanwhile, Very is expected to release its next shipment by the end of June, also pegging GAME for a drop next month.

However, an earlier forecast that GAME will have new shares in early June has been limited by another reliable source.

PS5 Stock Alert UK, which previously predicted a PlayStation replenishment for June, posted this update, telling console hunters:

“We found out yesterday’s stock was the 15,000 stock we mentioned in the previous tweet below. On top of the 15K inventory, there were 5K canceled orders, so down 20K in total, therefore the drop was huge and it took ages to sell out.

“Which means there is no information on a restocking next week unless they decide to drop canceled replenishment next week for yesterday’s failed orders.”

Stock trackers suggest something from Tesco could arrive between today and June 2 and will be made available through the website. It looks like these latest next-generation consoles will be made available as pre-orders meaning they won’t arrive until sometime in June.

It’s important to find out more PlayStation shares are coming, but console hunters also need to know the best ways to get shares from each platform.

Here are a few examples of how best to buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:

GAME: GAME is a UK retailer offering the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. GAME recently refilled the PS5 and is now out of stock again.

ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and failing to complete purchases when there is a lot of site traffic. Stock trackers suggest using the Argos mobile app and keeping an eye on the local store listings. Argos is not expected to receive another stock until June.

CURRYS: Currys didn’t share much inventory in May, but are shipping consoles through a new system. This includes signing up for the Currys VIP Pass, which means going to the website and using an email address. Doing so gives you the chance to buy a PS5 console from a store within 72 hours.

AMAZON UK: Amazon UK performs better under power, but still has a few notable kinks. Having an account with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checkout. Amazon is expected to issue new shares in early June.
