Pirates of the Caribbean 6 ‘May Captain Hook’ Contain Jude Law’s from Peter Pan and Wendy?

Disney currently has two new Pirates movies in the works that are not expected to feature Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow. One is the female-led spin-off of Margot Robbie and the other is a Pirates of the Caribbean 6 that would be a direct sequel to Dead Men Tell No Tales, also known as Salazar’s Revenge. And now sources are claiming that Disney wants to bring Peter Pan villain Captain Hook into the franchise.

This claim comes from We Got This Covered sources who correctly predicted that young Luke Skywalker would appear in season 2 of The Mandalorian.

Interestingly, Captain James Hook is already canon in the Pirates of the Caribbean universe.

In January, Screen Rant pointed out how the Peter Pan villain is mentioned in the 2011 Pirates of the Caribbean novel The Price of Freedom.

AC Crispin’s book followed a young Jack Sparrow to the events of The Curse of the Black Pearl.

During the novel, pirates Don Rafael and Sparrow’s father Edward Teague talk about an old acquaintance named James.

Although the name Hook was not mentioned, the swashbucklers told how this James lost a hand and got a hook as a result.

But also that their fellow pirate was long gone, did not age between their encounters and was now afraid of children.

It goes without saying that the author was definitely referring to Captain James Hook from JM Barrie’s Peter Pan.

After all, Hook’s disappearance and lack of aging should lead to him being trapped in Neverland where time stands still.

While he lost his hand to Tick-Tock the crocodile and is afraid of children after his many battles with Peter Pan.

Additionally, when the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction opened at Disneyland in 1967, Hook and Smee from the 1953 animated film featured in a promotional video for the attraction.

Interestingly, Disney is currently shooting a live-action remake of the classic movie called Peter Pan and Wendy.

In 2022, Peter Pan and Wendy head straight to Disney+ and Jude Law stars as Hook.

Given that Disney-owned Marvel and Star Wars have had successful shared universes, perhaps they’ll introduce Law’s Hook into the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

In any case, future sequels without Depp’s Sparrow are a huge gap to fill and maybe Captain Hook is the best chance to fill it.

The inclusion of the Peter Pan villain in the Pirates movies is certainly possible given the other mythical swashbucklers that have appeared in the fantastic franchise.

The Pirates of the Caribbean movies have already introduced Davy Jones and the real-life pirate Blackbeard, so why not Captain Hook too?

In addition, the franchise has visited all kinds of mythological locations, such as Davy Jones’ Locker, so maybe Neverland can be introduced as well.

Anyway, Joachim Rønning, who directed Dead Men Tell No Tales, will return to the helm of Pirates 6.

While Kaya Scodelario, who played Barbossa’s daughter Carina, has previously said she has a contract for a sixth film.
