Deadine reports that Jennifer Lopez is working with rampage director Brad Peyton for Atlas, a sci-fi thriller set up on Netflix.

According to the trade, Atlas will see Lopez as “a woman fighting for humanity in a future where an AI soldier has determined that the only way to end war is to end humanity. To outwit this rogue AI, Atlas must work with the one thing she fears most: another AI.”

“I am so honored to be working with Jennifer, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and the rest of the Nuyorican Productions team, along with our partners Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell at Safehouse,” said Peyton. “Having the opportunity to direct Jennifer in the title role of this film is a dream come true as I know she will bring the incredible power, depth and authenticity that we have all come to admire from her work. Plus, Jeff and I are so excited to be working with Scott, Ori and the whole team at Netflix again. They have been nothing short of amazing to work with and we are blessed to have the opportunity to make another film about the service.”

Atlas comes under Lopez and Nuyorican Productions’ recent first look deal with Netflix, and follows the streamer’s recent announcement that the star will also be working with Mulan helmer Niki Caro for an action thriller titled the mother.
