A new Call of Duty Warzone update is likely to be released this week as part of the next major Cold War Season 4 release.

As expected, some of the new weapons released last week have proved a bit too powerful and have come to dominate in Verdansk.

This includes the MG 82, with the new LMG slated to be nerfed soon on PS4, Xbox One, PC and next-gen consoles.

We don’t know the ways the MG 82 will be modified, with plenty of things to tweak in Warzone Season 4.

The MG 82 is known for its relatively low recoil and high ammunition magazine, which means it can deal serious damage over long distances.

The only thing holding him back now is that you need to unlock the MG 82 before using it.

That means many Call of Duty fans may not have it as an option just yet, something that will change in the coming days.

To unlock the MG 82, gamers need to reach level 31 on the new Season 4 Battle Pass. This is a free level, meaning you don’t need to make any additional purchases.

However, before you can unlock the MG 82, it should be known that developers Raven Software have confirmed that they will nerf the new gun.

A message from the Warzone team reads: “The MG 82 (BOCW) made one too many trips to the Pack-a-Punch machine before deploying to Verdansk.

“Element 115 is off limits in #Warzone, so we’ll be tweaking this weapon soon.”

With that in mind, a new Call of Duty Warzone update is expected to arrive sometime between Tuesday, June 22 and Thursday, June 24.

Thursdays are the dates of choice for Playlist patches, while Raven Software usually launches more technical patches on Tuesdays.

And Raven has already confirmed his plans to make weapon balance changes during Season 4, telling gamers last week:

“In a future patch, we will make significant changes to Weapons.

“At a high level, Warzone is a game about engagements. The more time we spend on mechanical and strategic expression within assignments, the higher the ‘skill ceiling’ and the longer our personal journey of mastery.

“We believe that the frequency of those appointments and how we navigate them contributes greatly to the overall level of enjoyment. We want to enable more escapes from impossible situations, moments of finesse, epic outplays and opportunities to improve excellent marksmanship.

“As some weapons are much more lethal than others in their class, we believe that a reduction in the efficacy of those outliers is necessary. We expect these changes to increase the average Time to Kill by about 60 to 100 milliseconds.

“These changes will not only increase the overall ability to express abilities, but should also introduce some viability weapons that haven’t had a chance to shine yet.”
