The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD for Nintendo Switch offers support for the Switch Pro controller in addition to several quality-of-life improvements.

The HD remaster of Skyward Sword was announced earlier this year, and while Nintendo has already said it will come with a revised, “more intuitive” control scheme for the Switch, no details about the upcoming remaster have yet been shared. We may now have some additional details about the game’s upcoming re-release on Nintendo’s hybrid platform.

As revealed via the official Nintendo UK website, Skyward Sword HD will support the Nintendo Switch Pro controller. “Brand new button controls so you can choose your play style,” reads the game description with Nintendo Switch Pro controller support at the bottom of the page.

In addition to support for Pro controllers, the HD remaster of Skyward Sword also offers several quality-of-life improvements, including improvements to something that bugged many players from the original: the included tutorials.

“Various quality of life improvements, including refinements to player tutorials and general guidance throughout the adventure”, writes Nintendo on the above website.

It was announced last month that one of Skyward Sword HD’s best new features, fast travel, would be locked behind using the game’s new Amiibo figurine featuring Zelda and her Loftwing.

In The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, the adventure takes place between the sky where Link and his friends live, and the vast world of the surface that lies beneath the clouds.

Normally you can only return from the surface to the sky through designated save points, but if you use the Zelda & Loftwing amiibo while on the surface in the game, you can return to the sky anywhere on the surface, even in dungeons .

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD launches worldwide on July 16 next monththis.
