Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement, the duo behind the much-loved 2014 film and FX TV series What we do in the shade as well as the sitcom series Flight of the Conchords, are ready to team up again for a brand new series.
In an interview with Weekly entertainment, Clement revealed that he and Taika are currently working on a new action-adventure comedy series that he claimed will be different from his usual productions.
“Taika and I are currently working on a new series that we have just started writing. I can’t say much about it yet, but what’s fun about it and what makes it exciting for me is that it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, which is long episodes on a sitcom. It’s an action-adventure comedy. It will be different from what I used to do. I’ve made three sitcoms now and I hope this one is still funny, but more of an adventure series.”

In addition to this new series in the works, the duo is also working hard on other projects, with Clement on the third season of What we do in the shade and is also set to star in James Cameron’s Avatar sequel. Waititi, who recently wrapped up the recordings Thor: Love and Thunder, produces FXs Reservation dogs, will star as Blackbeard in HBO’s HBO Our flag means death, and is slated to be a currently unnamed Star Wars movie.
