The wait for Ozark season 4 continues, unfortunately. The Netflix Original has kept viewers on the edge of their seats since its premiere back in 2017, and now that the final season is upon us, fans are counting down the days until the crime thriller returns on our screens.
The last we saw of the Byrdes, Ruth had parted ways with Marty, Jonah went rogue and threatened Helen with a gun, and in the final moments of Ozark season 3, Helen was shot and killed by the cartel. It goes without saying that Ozark season 4 will be opening up at a dangerous time for Wendy and Marty, unless there’s an unexpected time jump.
So what’s the future looking like for Ozark? The good news is, the series has been renewed for a fourth and final season on Netflix, which will be broken up into two parts. The bad news, however, is that we have confirmation it won’t be premiering in July 2021.
Netflix shared their July 2021 new releases list, which includes the likes of Outer Banks season 2, Virgin River season 2, the Fear Street trilogy, and more exciting titles. Unfortunately, however, Ozark season 4 is left off that list.
Though we weren’t exactly expecting Ozark season 4 to debut this month, Netflix has announced surprise, last-minute releases before. We wouldn’t put it past them again!
Ozark season 4 release date
So far, we don’t have a confirmed release date for Ozark season 4, unfortunately. That hasn’t kept us from speculating, though. According to a Deadline report from June 2020, the first part of the fourth season is expected in 2021 at the earliest, however COVID-19 safety concerns could have potentially altered that prediction.
At this point, we’re expecting a late 2021 release or sometime in early 2022. Production on Ozark season 4 began in November 2020, so it’s entirely possible the series could return about a year after that. That is, of course, just a guess for now.
We’ll keep you updated on everything we hear about Ozark season 4.
