With filming on peacekeeper coming to an end this month in Vancouver, rich shared a first look at James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad spin-off series in which the filmmaker and his protagonist John Cena in full (blood) costume as the titular vigilante.
“Peacemaker is a piece of shit. He’s not a good guy. And he’s wearing the craziest costume you’ve ever seen in your life,” Gunn tells the outlet. “Peacemaker has a clear set of ideals that I find very interesting. You know, “I want peace, no matter how many men, women and children I have to kill to get it.” Sounds like nonsense, but it also makes a lot of sense. And you can see in John’s performance how he doesn’t feel right about it – something I thought was the beginning of an entire eight-episode show.”
“He lives in the world of Superman, Batman and Aquaman, and it’s not easy for him,” Gunn continues. “He represents a segment of the world’s population that is problematic to say the least and puts him in a situation where he has to face the choices he has made all his life and the extremes of his views.”
