After the success of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and the sequel Jumanji: the next level both critically and financially, the third installment in the reboot series seemed inevitable. According to one of the stars of the series, Sony Pictures may not be moving forward with a new film at this time.
During an interview with Collider to promote the upcoming release of Gunpowder Milkshake On Netflix, Karen Gillan, who plays Ruby Roundhouse, revealed that she hasn’t heard anything about a fourth installment in the action-adventure series.
‘I don’t really know about the next one. No one has spoken to me, so I think – I don’t know. I assume they will make one and I don’t know how they are going to go about that. But I hope they make another one because it’s so much fun,” Gillan said.
While Gillan has stated that he knows nothing about the project, that doesn’t mean there won’t be a fourth in the future, as director Jake Kasdan revealed last year that he and his team were in the “very earliest” stages of development. on the sequel in hopes that Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan will all reprise their roles.
