Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch Five Introduces the Active Roll System and More

Game developer Larian Studios recently revealed the details of Patch 5 for video game Baldur’s Gate 3.

Details about the upcoming major update were revealed during the Panel From Hell live show. Patch 5 expands the game. Starting July 13, 2021, players will find some new game-changing mechanics, lots of combat and AI improvements, weapon and movie visual upgrades, more role-playing focus, and more Owlbear cub content.

Full patch notes will be revealed when the update launches on July 13. Here are some of the highlights.

The Active Roll system is introduced in Patch 5. Rather than being at the mercy of the RNG gods, the new patch ensures that players have a better chance. Active Roll gives players the opportunity to increase their odds by applying spells and bonuses to their reels. They can now see their modifiers and status effects right in the UI.

A character’s background was always available in the Character Creation screen, such as the Folk Hero, Acolyte, Urchin, and more. With Patch 5, players can now complete a series of secret mini-quests based on these roles called Background Objectives. Completing these quests will give you rewards.

Camp Supplies is a new feature that will make players think a little more strategically when activating a Long Rest. Players can now use all the food and scraps they find in the game and add that up to the full remainder.

Mini camps are also coming in this new patch. Players can rest in these areas for a long rest period.

AI has been modified with the new patch, with enemies being more intelligent and resourceful than before. Unarmed enemies can now pick up weapons to defend themselves. Goblins will pass around potions to heal the wounded. NPCs will now also make better decisions.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 5 launches on PC on July 13.
