Game studio Bloober Team has denied speculation of their team working on a particular project, but has confirmed two projects.
There has been several speculation online recently about the creators of Layers of Fear 2 and most recently The Medium after a leaker claimed to have discovered three codenamed projects. They were H2O, which were thought to be Layers of Fear 2, Black and Dum Spiro. Some believed that the other two titles are related to Silent Hill and that it would somehow be revived.
CMO Tomasz Gawlikowski recently spoke to media outlet IGN and made a statement. He has denied the allegations, but did share some new details of their upcoming works.
“Online speculation based on outdated or incomplete information can often lead to strange theories among gamers, so we appreciate you asking us directly,” Gawlikowski said.
“We have also applied for two other projects, codenamed Dum Spiro and Black respectively,” Gawlikowski continued. “After countless iterations of Dum Spiro, we have come to the conclusion that we cannot currently deliver it in a format that is appropriate for the subject matter and at the same time commercially viable. In short, Dum Spiro is currently no longer in active development.
“Likewise, the original idea for Black has also been scrapped, and while we’re still developing a game under this code name, it’s now a very different project from what you’ve been reading on the internet for the past few days.”
“At Bloober Team we have two active internal projects, one in the production phase and one in the pre-production phase. Both will have a wider scope than The Medium, but neither is based on themes or premise circulating online in recent days.”
So there you have it guys. Bloober Team is not working on a Silent Hill game, but two major projects are in the works.
