WitcherCon has not let us down! Netflix has announced the release date for The Witcher season 2. Here’s everything we know so far.
When we found out WitcherCon was happening on July 9, we hoped that it would bring great news of the release date. Netflix certainly didn’t disappoint, not just bringing us the release date but the episode titles too.
After learning that filming had wrapped and that the season would definitely arrive in Q4 of 2021, we guessed that it would be December 2021. This would allow time for the post-production work, and it would time with the release of the first season, which arrived in December 2019.
The official release date for The Witcher season 2 is Friday, Dec. 17. All eight episodes will drop at once.
The announcement came with the key art for the season. Geralt is standing with Ciri as they stand on a cliff edge overlooking the castle in the distance. Are they going to reclaim the castle during the second season? Will Ciri want her birthright back?
The Witcher season 2 episode titles
As well as releasing the exciting news of the release date, we also got to see titles from seven of the eight episodes. The finale’s title hasn’t been shared, likely due to some spoilers that it may have revealed. Plus, sometimes we just need a surprise or two before the season drops.
The season premiere is titled “Grain of Truth.” This could be a chance for the truth to come out about Geralt and Ciri. The two spent the whole first season searching for each other, with Ciri not really understanding the full reason why. It’s time for her to learn the truth about her past and how she’s connected to Geralt.
Fans can certainly start speculating about what’s to come in the second season based on the titles. There’s six months to break them down, along with anything else that can come along to keep the show on our minds.
