Tsukihime Remake development is officially complete, according to a developer announcement Type-Moon. The game, officially titled Tsukihime: A piece of blue glass moon, has reached the “Master Up” status. This is the Japanese term for a development milestone similar to “going gold”, which is when a game is declared ready for commercial release by the developers. At that point, the game data is placed on a final master medium (such as a disc or storage drive) and sent for duplication (in the case of physical copies).
The tweet announcing the completion came from the official Type-Moon account. It was accompanied by some celebratory artwork featuring game protagonists Arcueid Brunestud and Shiki Tohno.

The message also asked fans to wait a little longer until Tsukihime Remakethe planned release date of August 26, 2021.
Originally announced in 2008, Tsukihime Remake has been in some form of development for the past twelve years. It’s a remake of Tsukihime, Type-Moon’s groundbreaking visual novel, first released in 2000. The story follows high school student Shiki Tohno, a boy who possesses Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. This is a special ability that allows him to see all things covered in ‘Lines of Death’. Shiki meets Arcueid, a vampire princess, and is drawn deeper into a web of supernatural events.
With renewed art, rewritten stories and new content, Tsukihime Remake will cover the two “Near Side” story routes from the original. The Near Side routes star heroines Arcueid Brunestud and Ciel. Type-Moon’s plans to represent the other three “Far Side” routes (featuring heroines Akiha, Hisui, and Kohaku) will be detailed “at a later date.”
Tsukihime: A piece of blue glass moon will be released in Japan for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC on August 26, 2021. No overseas release plans have been announced. Melty Blood: Lumina type, a new fighting game based on tsukhime, will be published at the end of September 2021.
